The new Bentley Continental comes already as a well known model, since it was produced from 2003 when it debuted for the first time on the Geneva auto show. Basically it haven’t changed a lot since then, despite to the updates, the base platform and the main characteristics stayed almost the same. Still, the new Bentley comes in a refreshed mood, with a few interesting new details, which gives to a vehicle a quite new appearance.
Exterior and Interior
In some sources (motor authority) we can read that for the redesigned Bentley Continental the inspiration probably came from the Bentleys EXP 10 Speed 6 concept from the 2015 year. Still the current model has some more stunner look. Beside this the new platform is based on lightweight materials as the high – strength steel and aluminum, what should cause a really big change and significant detail when it comes to the weight of the vehicle. The MSB platform first of all was used on the new Porsche Panamera, what produced also the Porsche.
So, from the spyshots there are not much to see, but it is obvious that the new look concerns the lower front and rear part. The overhangs are now shorter, as the wheelbase as well.
This two-door coupe probably comes with a new indoor details. Too many informations we cant offer, but the new digital instrument cluster option is more than sure. Also some safety systems should be updated as well. Inside we can find some common elements with the EXP 10 Speed 6 like the similar dual – brow instrument panel, the leather seats and door panels. The main fact is the Tesla Model S like display screen. Beside this there is a sportier three – spoke steering wheel. The cabin looks really luxurious and elegant.
Engine and Performance
The new Bentley Continental comes with a 6.0-litre W12 engine. This type of engine showed up first of all in the Bentayga SUV. That should deliver around 600 hp. Also the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 will an option as well.
2018 Bentley Continental Release Date and Price
The new refreshed Bentley Continental GT could appear soon, and to the market it should arrive already in this year, but as the 2018 model. It hasn’t officially confirmed yet, but after the updated Continental, we can expect launching the refreshed Continental GT Convertible. The price is not confirmed officially but is should not pass the $200,000.
