2018 Dodge SRT Barracuda should not be a surprise for Dodge fans, especially those who are eager to see a new version of this car. Even though this model has been confirmed by Dodge CEO Sergio Marchionne himself in 2012, things were not that easy by now. When we saw five years plan 2014, when this model has not been even mentioned, we were sure that new Barracuda will never see roads again. But, do not be a pessimist, Sergio said again something about this car and burned our imagination one more time. This version is a great model, with modern technology under the hood and very interesting old-fashioned design.
It is not for sure if 2018 Dodge SRT Barracuda will be a convertible or a coupe, or if it will be offered as both, but there are high chances that it will be similar to classic Mustang and Camaro. It could look like 1999 Dodge Charge concept or be smaller than current Challenger. Whatever it is, it will be as attractive as any other model before, including old Barracuda.
Speaking about the old Barracuda, the very first model has been released in 1964 as a classic European car stylized to be attractive to younger buyers. Even the moving of the model to Plymouth that had stronger 440 and 426 Hemi engine under the hood has not changed the interesting for the car among buyers. It had the same classic Barracuda design but got more horses and speed for truly speed lovers. It was the time when the recognizable exterior design has been established and that will be recognized in the same model, too. It includes thin front end and small lights under the sharp hood line.
As we said, first Barracudas were popular to strong end fast engines, so 2018 Dodge SRT Barracuda simply cannot be much different from them. As some fans heard, that has to be a bigger engine that current 5.7-liter Hemi 326 with more horses and speed. It is possible that the manufacturer made an electric version of this engine, but we are not informed about the strength of that option.
2018 Dodge SRT Barracuda Release Date and Price
There were many interesting rumors about 2018 Dodge SRT Barracuda which, even they are not confirmed sound great. It is for sure that this car will not be under the Plymouth name this time, but it will keep the same attractive features. However, do not expect this car before 2020, as Sergio Marchionne said.
