2018 Ford Expedition – Full-Size SUV

The year 2018 brings us the great news from Ford. Based on the F-150 model, the new full-size SUV named Ford Expedition is going to hit the market as a 2018 model. The three-row SUV will make its appearance with significant technology and engine improvements.

Exterior


We have already mentioned that the 2018 Expedition will be based on the F-150. However, its nose seems to acquire a crossover-like design and so it more resembles the Explorer model. The chrome will be used on grille, mirror caps and roof rails. We have also noticed tow hooks under the front bumper. The new Expedition will stand on 18-inch wheels wrapped in Michelin tires suitable for all sorts of terrains. The whole vehicle looks powerful, stable, massive and a bit boxy. The headlights, fog lights and day running lights will be using the latest LED technology.

Interior

Inside the new 2018 Ford Expedition, you will find the F-150 dashboard. So, you should not expect any drastic changes when it comes to interior of these two models, especially in the front seats. The high-quality materials such as leather, wood and metal will be used to furnish the cabin. The center console will be slightly redesigned. It will provide a TFT display with vehicle information as well as the Ford’s latest Sync 3 infotainment system that includes Apple Car Play and Android Auto, USB ports, wireless phone charging and all sorts of connectivity. Dual-zone climate control will also be provided. When it comes to safety and driver assist options, the Expedition will offer traction control, lane departure, hazard lights, hill decent controls, the 360-degree camera system and many more. The three rows of seats inside this SUV will be able to accommodate eight passengers.

Engine

What can you expect under the hood of the new 2018 Ford Expedition? It will come with a new 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 which can also be found in the F-150. Such an engine is able to make 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. The Platinum trim, however, will get the same 3.5-liter EcoBoost, but with 400 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque. A real treat, isn’t it? The new Expedition will be using the Ford’s new 10-speed automatic transmission. The standard version will be based on the rear-wheel-drive system.

2018 Ford Expedition Prices and Release Date

When it comes to release date, we can probably expect the new 2018 Ford Expedition in the late 2017, most likely in the fourth quarter of the year. The price details have not been confirmed yet, but since the current 2017 Expedition start at $46,225, you should be prepared that due to all technological improvements, the new 2018 Expedition could start at $70,000.
