Another vehicle coming from the well-known Ford brand has been spied recently and it is going to hit the market as a 2019 model. The new 2019 Ford Ranger will keep its recognizable design and features, but also undergo significant changes and improvements. It will once again show why it has been one of the best-selling mid-size trucks in the U.S. market.
When it comes to exterior of the 2019 Ford Ranger, we can say that the spy photos of a camouflaged model could reveal most of the recognizable Ranger features. It will be built on the same platform used on the current model and that is why many would compare these two models and see the similarity. However, the 2019 Ranger will also get some improved characteristics such as larger tow hooks under the bumper. Also, in the front fascia you will notice a slightly redesigned grille and headlights, but they will also resemble the ones seen on the current Ranger. Some would also compare the new Ranger to the F-150 model. A larger air dam has also been noticed which will benefit the fuel economy. Looking at the side profile, you should not expect any radical changes while in the back part, this model might be getting a new lighting in the bed. It has been said that the 2017 Ranger will be available in three configuration versions – a regular cab, extended cab and crew cab.
The interior of the 2019 Ford Ranger is expected to provide more space and comfort. You can expect simple and modern design inside the cabin with all the next-generation hi-tech improvements. The upgraded dashboard and center console will reduce the number of buttons and get more touch-controlled options and screens. It will provide the latest SYNC infotainment system which includes options such as satellite navigation, voice commands, hands-free phone options, HD and satellite radio, 360-degree camera system, Bluetooth and other types of connectivity. It is also expected that the new Ranger will be well-equipped with the necessary safety and driver assist features.
When it comes to engine of the 2019 Ford Ranger, it seems that Ford has been considering more than one option. The new Ranger will most probably come with a 3.2-liter five-cylinder turbo diesel that will be able to deliver 185 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. The other option might include the engine found in F-150, the 2.7-liter Eco Boost V-6 with 325 horsepower and 375 pound-feet of torque. Another version would probably use the engine seen inside the Ford Explorer, the 2.3-liter Eco Boost I-4 that produces 280 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. When it comes to transmission, the new Ranger will offer either six-speed manual or six-speed automatic. You can also choose between the rear-wheel and all-wheel-drive system.
