2019 Ford Thunderbird should recall on luxury coupes that we used to see in previous decades and which disappeared a few years ago. Buyers obviously looked for large SUVs or long sedans, and those small but functional coupes simply do not have a real audience. The last couple of years manufacturers are back with those models, so Thunderbird actually starts a new line of old-fashioned and popular models.
2019 Ford Thunderbird should be a two-door coupe as before, but with few changes in design. First of all, there is longer and thinner front end with thin LED lights and recognizable but slightly smaller gridded front grille. Front bumper should be lowered on the ground where are two thin fog lights and wide air intake in the middle. The rear end, on the other hand, is shorter and has modernized rear lights together with a thin spoiler on the truck door. The car is a sporty classic coupe, but with many modern details and parts.
When it comes to the interior of 2019 Ford Thunderbird the manufacturer has chosen a combination of style and retro design. That is why the cabin looks familiar and maybe a little old-fashioned at first glance. There is a slightly curved dashboard, with a long dent in the middle and large center cluster framed with chrome. There are touchscreen and commands, with rounded retro air vents and few large buttons. The seats are well shaped and wrapped in red and black fabric. In terms of technology, the manufacturer put the best in class.
Even though it is not for sure which engine will be under the hood of 2019 Ford Thunderbird, we can predict some possible options, as many of them are already used on Ford’s cars. Base model could get 2.0-liter or 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine with over than 250 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. Higher trims could get 2.7-liter or even 3.0-liter EcoBoost petrol engine with 300 horsepower of strength. Some buyers expect Taurus Volvo’s engine option which means 280 horsepower strong engine with 286 pound-feet of torque and paired with a six-speed transmission. Other engines should be paired with the nine-speed transmission. Finally, all engines should send power to front wheels, but there will be an optional all-wheel driving system as well.
2019 Ford Thunderbird Release Date and Price
2019 Ford Thunderbird will remain the same price as on previous models, which means that it could cost around $38,000. Main competitors should be looking among Ford’s coupes, but also Mercedes C-class and BMW 4Series.
