2019 Toyota Highlander should be redesigned popular vehicle in mid-range crossover range. Since the last model has been redesigned 2014, and current model has undergone only a few improvements, we have reasons to believe that main change will happen with this model. However, there are still many interesting things which are Highlander popular for, like the great exterior design and many interesting devices in the cabin.
As we said, exterior design and look is one of the most interesting and attractive things in every Highlander, so we expect the same in 2019 Toyota Highlander. According to photos, it will have the same shape of the front end, with recognizable trapezoidal gridded grille and wide LED front lights incorporated in hood line. The rear end is simple, but soft, with a thin spoiler on the top of the rear window. Thanks to few bulges on the rear end the car look more attractive but also aerodynamic. The sides of the car have few dents in the middle of the doors. As the manufacturer announced, we should expect larger wheels and few new colors with this model, too.
Toyota SUVs and crossovers usually have wide and comfortable cabins with greatly designed details and luxury upholstery. That is the case with 2019 Toyota Highlander, too. There is a wide and very spacious cabin with leather upholstery and many additions to the passengers’ comfort. Together with that comes wide dashboard with an approachable center cluster that contains all needed commands. The dashboard is framed with chrome and has simple but functional commands. As we know that Toyota tested Apple Car Play with new Avalon, we expect that device in new Highlander, too.
There should be offered the same engines in 2019 Toyota Highlander as on the current model. That means a 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine with 185 horsepower and 187 pound-feet of torque in the base model. Higher trims get a 3.5-liter V6 engine with 295 horsepower and 263 pound-feet of torque which will be paired with an electric unit so both can produce 306 horsepower. It is also expected that the manufacturer will not change the transmission so expect six-speed automatic transmission in the base model and eight-speed transmission in V6 engines.
2019 Toyota Highlander Release Date and Price
2019 Toyota Highlander comes as a competitor to very popular models like Ford Explorer, Honda Pilot, and Hyundai Santa Fe, but with the price of $32,000 for base model and equipment that offers it is highly competitive with those models. However, higher trims with all equipment could cost around $49,000 and maybe more.
